Thank you Lost art press

Last night I was catching up on my blog reading and found that Lost Art Press has published The Essential Woodworker in drm free epub format. Seeing that I have not purchased the book yet I quickly grabbed it up within 5 minutes. I've already read up to the detailed instructions on table building. The writing is great very informative and easy to understand (unlike mine). Tomorrow I plan on starting up on the planeing exercises out lined in the book. Just wish there were some sawing exercises to go along with it. Maybe I'll come up with some if no one finds this thing and suggest some.

Thank You for reading my ramblings

Welcome to the Shoppe

Welcome and thank you for visiting. This blog is long overdue (my procrastination has gotten the better of me). The idea behind this blog is to document my progress into the world of handtool woodworking.

You may ask why would you want to do some thing like that? After all there are so many wonderful power tools out there that would make your life easier than trying to do it by hand. The well the answer is easy space and money. This spring I built my 10'x12' shop I just don't have the space to use a table saw much less all the other power tools. Not to mention the thousands of dollars to get the machinery to make fine quality furniture. Using handtools to do this just makes sense and when I think of an artisan I think handmade be it furniture, clothing, even that quilt my grandmother made.

Thanks for visiting!
